Accelerated Death Benefit Rider
*Included
This rider—also known as a Living Needs Benefit Rider—is included in your policy at no charge. It gives you access to a portion (or full amount) of your policy’s death benefit, if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness resulting in six months or less to live.
Child Rider
*Available at additional cost
For as little as $51.50 per year, add a child rider that covers your children under age 18. Options range from $10,000 to $100,000 in coverage per child. Ask your Quotacy agent for details.
Premium Waiver for Disability
*Available at additional cost
Prudential will waive premium payments during a period of total disability lasting six consecutive months or more. The waived payments don’t have to be paid back. This rider is not available on all policies and cost varies by age.

The Fine Print
Guidelines & Exclusions
Term Conversion
- Term Essential may be converted to any permanent life insurance policy.
- For issue ages 59 and younger, convert your policy anytime during the term.
- For issue ages 60-75 (60-65 for Return of Premium Term), conversion period ends on the 5th policy anniversary.
- Partial conversions are allowed.
Policy Replacement
Accidental Death Benefit Rider
- Not available in Massachusetts.
- Rider benefit will not be paid out if death is result of:
- Suicide or attempted suicide,
- Infirmity or disease of mind or body or treatment for it, or
- War or act of war.
- Not available on Return of Premium policy.
Accelerated Death Benefit Rider
- Also known as Living Needs Benefit Rider.
- Not available in Washington.
- Life expectancy of six months or less (12 months or less in California).
- When death benefit payout is accelerated, processing fee of $150 ($100 in Florida).
- Full death benefit amount can be accelerated in all states except Connecticut, where acceleration is limited to no more than 75% of death benefit.
Child Rider
- Newborn child covered after the 14th day post-birth.
- Rider can be converted to a new policy up to five times the rider face amount.
- Parent (or child) can convert rider on the policy anniversary following child’s 18th, 22nd, or 25th birthday.
- Not available on Return of Premium policy.
Premium Waiver for Disability Rider
- Not available on policies if insured is table rated D through H; or table B or C with a flat extra; or a temporary flat extra exceeding $25 per $1000 of face amount.
- Once the insured has recovered, Prudential must be notified and premium payments resumed.
- Premiums will not be waived if disability starts following the insured’s 60th birthday, except in California where premiums will be waived until age 65.
- Not available on Return of Premium policy.
